Operating Hours

The airport is open 24 hours a day, 7 days a week for flight operations, however, circuit training is not to take place at Whanganui Airport between the hours of 2200-0630 NZST and 2300-0630 NZDT. Single arrivals or departures are permitted at all times. When practicable pilots should limit extended flight below 2000 ft over the built-up areas of Whanganui.

The airport terminal building is opened one hour before the departure of scheduled flights and 30 minutes prior to scheduled arrivals. The terminal is closed 15 minutes after each departure or arrival. If access to the airport terminal is required outside the published hours please contact the Airport Duty Officer.
